For a build, pick an action, chose a round & bullet combo that you prefer and go from there. You must have a vision of what its going to look like.

Yeh I’d agree with the above, at 500 the bullet isn’t overly critical but accuracy is still (as always) and wind is always a factor, as far as caliber I’d go 260Rem then Creedmore as i consider resale ability as something to consider.

something I read time again from US web sites about 6.5 Creedmore compared to 260 rem is the Creeedmore is available in loaded rounds "everywhere" and will readily shoot them where as the 260 is dearer to buy ammo for ( here they just make them both expensive )
I dont particularly buy in to the case length, mag fit, projectile length issue as mostly if doing High BC they will be out to the lands and not fit many short actions anyway ( mag length ) So for your LR stuff it will most likely be single feed.
If you dont have either caliber yet then maybe creedmore is the way to go as everyone is chambering for it now, I want to buy a new rifle myself but want to stay with 260 as I have a lot invested in it already, but its a bit more difficult to find much chambered for it off the shelf.
Going custom like you are is a good way to think though.
260 in either t3 with long action mag and bolt stop or sako finlite job done
Konus binoculars " The power to imagine"
T3X stainless synthetic now coming in 6.5 creedmoor. Great rifle and a great caliber
my 260 sako shooting 147 eld-match with 09 doing 2725 smokes deer out to 800

Any have overall length of a creedmoor with a 143eldx touching the lands ?
That depends on the individual throating of each gun, If you get a new barrel fitted the gunsmith can cut the throat to suit the projectile of choice
factory throats can be any thing depending on the wear of the reamer
Understood just wondering if its likely to be over 2.800
