@Larskramer how did you get on with your load development?
Did you have much success with the CFE223 & 120gr combination?

Be care full with cfe223 in the summer it will spike, better off using 8208 with the 120 class projectiles.

Thats pretty slow, i did some testing a few weeks ago with 90gr TNT's with 8208 and was just shy of 2900 fps from a 22" Howa Mini

At this stage I am wanting to stick to 120-123gr.

So what Velocities are people getting out of a 120-123gr Howa Mini 20" + DPT Over Barrel Suppressor?

I would be happy with the 120gr Barnes TTSX BT doing just over 2500fps if possible.

Barnes would be too hard unless at point blank or there of. 123 ELDM or SST will give you what you are looking for. I get close to 2500 from a 17" barrel & DPT. Another option could be Nosler BT. Use BM8208 powder and BR4 primer.

@Mathias, thank you. That gives me a good starting point.

Purpose of load, is Hunting 80% Goats, 15% Fellow Deer, 5% Red, between 100-300m's.
At the 100m mark, I have had a couple of pass throughs with not much expansion with ELD-M's.

Wanting to try something that opens up a bit more, and had heard good things about the Barnes TTSX BT.

Barnes need velocity to perform correctly. Pass through can happen with any bullet that doesn't hit something solid enough, like bone. I found the SST pretty good, though can be messy too.

2207 is what I use on the 90 grain tnt, great bullet.
Go to 6.5 grendel .com and a guy there has some great videos of him culling hogs, he rates it as the best bullet ever for hogs.
He also rates the 123 sst .

The 123 eldm opens up awesome, i shot a fallow in the base of the neck at just over 100 yards, the exit hole was big enough to fit my fist in.

    My guess... pedestrian.

2217 is even slower burning than CFE, which was already too slow for the 90gr bullets you tried last time... And now you've got a lighter bullet??

As your bullet gets lighter, your powder should get faster, so you're going the wrong way.
