    6mm 103 eldx vs 100 game changers

My stash of 105 amax is running out so I'm looking for a new 6mm projectile to run in my 6mm rem.
Looking around on line there seems to be afew boxes of hornardy 103 eldx and sierra 100 game changers on the shelves.
Has anyone had experience with either or both of these projectiles and can give me some feedback.

    The 6rem has a 1-7.5 twis and 24" barrel
Currently pushing the 105 amax at 3080 and very accurately.
Used 50/50 plus 400m target shooting and deer hunting

The 90gr ELD-X shoots well in my 243, and fallow don't like them. My 308 really likes the 178gr version.
The 103gr wouldn't stabilise in my 1:10 twist 243, but I would expect them to perform as well as the 90gr in a suitable rifle.

I recently picked up a box of 108 gr eld-m's that my 243 (1:8) really likes.

Yeah the 108gr eldm seem quite well priced as far as today's standards are. And available too which is a bonus.
Another one to consider is the 105gr targex. They shoot 5 shot half inch groups at 100 yards through my 9 twist and have taken deer out to just over 500 yards with them now.

I tried 100gr TGK (GameChanger), 103gr ELD-X and 108gr ELD-M in the 6mm Creedmoor (1:8”). I only use it for medium range deer and goat sniping, 200-400m type of shooting.

Hands down the easiest bullet to get to behave was the 108gr. Instant tiny groups through the whole ladder. The 103gr was a bit meh but would have come right with some fiddling around. The 100gr TGK was a disaster and was all over the place across the whole ladder. Both ELD-X and TGK boxes were sold with their remaining bullets.

That’s just in my rifle. Others will have different outcomes.

The 108gr ELD-M is just one of those cool bullets that seems to shoot for everybody. It’s proven be be very effective on reds with high shoulder and hilar shots. Have shot some fairly chunky hinds and spikers with it out past 400 with no drama whatsoever, a very satisfying THWOP. No issues with penetration and damage, just don’t expect a gaping great big exit wound. All the energy and action happens inside the animal. It wallops goats with that pleasing instantaneous DRT effect we like to see.

Cheers @Flyblown that's the info I was after. I've read online that the game changers were hit and miss to get shooting well. What speed were you getting the 108s moving out of the creed?

When the barrel was brand new and not fully up to speed, it was 2,975fps. After about 200 shots it was a wee bit high so had sped up a bit, as expected. Next time I use it I’ll be doing to fresh zero at 100m and drop test at 200, 300, 400m because I’ve got it in a new stock. Expect it will be around 3,050fps judging by the speed gains with 200-300 shot break in I’ve had with other Howas.

The rifle is set up for long range target shooting but the farm I have access to sometimes requires some longer shots so I'd like a projectile that will happily do both.

my experience of the 108 eld-m is like others above. Rate then highly
I had tried the berger 105 gr but could not get them working as I would like. So jumped to the eld-m and it was easy.
I'm loading to at or just under book max but with a longer COAL so In theory I could add in some more powder.
I'm at just over 3000 fps and that is fast enough for me as I have never shot past 450 mtr.

Re Goats I found the berger 87 gr a little more destructive. They opened up quicker, I've found that the 108 gr is almost half way through a goat before it dose it's thing. ( goats are quite thin side on.) however all the goats I have pointed them at have rolled over from 100-450 mtr. The 108's have worked well for me on deer, fallow and red (North-island sized ones).
