162s will be the common pill around here id suggest starting at 70gns with 215 primers
Cheers Kelton. Already running 162gr eldm. Just looking at trying the sierra too. Awesome thanks mate .
#1 pick up reloading manual #2turn to 7mm magnum page #3 find data for 150grn projectiles #4 scroll down till find powder you actually have on hand#5 select load 10%below maximum and try it#6 if all is good try slightly more powder in next batch#8 be happy with accurate load. Or just pick load in middle of range of your rifle is NORMALLY happy there, load some loads and also be happy
75/15/10 black powder matters
I deliberately left out #7 so the anully retentive can tell you all about seating depth variations.i personally set up die using existing accurate load and call it good

basically bud...its a cup n core pill so any data from older manuals will be relevant..its only in last 5-10 years that data has been projectile specific.....because people got lazy and manual makers got lawyer shy.... Ive got 4-5 manuals here if your stuck, tell me what powder you actually have and we can go from there,no use giving you best most accurate load with unicorn tears powder you cant find LOL.

Any reason why your looking to switch from the eldm?
Thanks Micky. I have 2217 and have found a load for h1000 which is the same so I can start there I guess.
@keengunNic not looking to swap as such but just thought I'd see how they go. Bloody good question though ha ha
NOW I have heard these have rather hard/thick jackets in certain batches so PLEASE do start low and try a few then work up ..and Im as scottish as they come about wasting components...but another member on here blew up his fine .270 with the same projectiles and suspects there were some 7mm diameter ones in the box...so I would be weighing and micrometer checking anything before poking it ontop of case of explody stuff.....having had .270 blow up on me I CAN TELL YOU IT IS NO NICE THING.

that data is from ADI MANUAL early 2000s do you spot the irregularity/possible error in the 2217 data?????
thats why I always look at all charge weights n compare and dont just read one line or trust internet given data.

Thanks Micky I appreciate your help mate.
