Update-
had to ditch the Sized 308 NNY brass an went to the usual FC brass i load the wooldieghs in, had to drop a half grain but found 38GR to be a bees dick under the inch which is unheard of for me, so i better leave it there.... lock , load an shoot.
thanks all... very sad with published Velocitys , though am not going to bother as il use this an see how it performs before a run down on the SST in a 7-08 for Sambar.. think it will be awesome on Fallows etc.
hooroo groovers - appreciate all the answeres n help
@Rees I've just picked up one of these Kimber 7/08,s and was going to try the Hammer 120 grain bullets as an allrounder, have you tried the lighter mono bullets at all?
Gday norwester, naah I havnt gone light mono due to the silly rules around Sambar cal minimums, 130gr being lightest .277 ..... an up. However, if the price of TTSX wasnt as such i would be looking into that , esp for a Kiwi bro You will have a good time with a 120 goin 3000 fps,,,, i did load 120 Sierras SP for fallows, may of mistaken a fallow for a sambar once or twice but it did work and to place a shot, no worries, bush an push scenerio i wouldnt fire.
r u in WA or NZ?

just a update on this, ive not pulled the trigger on a critter with the sst but its been carted around lately for the fallow rut, i did check poi before and picked up a shroom out of the dirt, i have a real nice feeling about the 162gr SST in the 7-08 at the modest velocity its carrying, in my case low 2500fps..
1 inch high on the hundred marker is going to suit, the last few deer ive been in on are in the 50m bracket, so im not too stressed about blowing it up an not penetrating on the Fallows .
keenest to shoot a sambar hind with them but only finding them at the bottom of the hill, an often the trucks at the top... no thanks.
am however taking the 7mm08 down to gippsland coastal region for the hog deer season, same story with the 162s, certainly wont need 160 odd grains for the little fellas but the projectile should work pretty sweet if i hit them just behind the shoulder mount spot .
busy busy with boots on the ground, but highly likely i dont fire a shot on Hog deer!
This may or may not help you out. Sounds like you’ve got your load sorted.
46gr AR2209 ELD-m 162gr
Ogive 2.224in Coal 2.924in 2675fps
I’ve shot deer out to 590yds and Tahr out to 680yds, 585tbr
The Blaser I shoot allows me to seat long.
The 162gr stt should shoot just fine
