Thread: 7mm Rem Mag H870 data

I'm just about to start some load work in a new 7mm RM rifle

I have some H1000 to pick up in North Canterbury but life keeps getting in the way of getting it
Also missed out today by minutes on some AR2225 !

So I do have a very old pound of H870
But I don't have any real printed data in any of my books

Looking for some published data for
7mm RM
162 or 160 grain bullets
H870 powder

A post from 'Hunting Nut' website quotes Nosler No.5 manual for Nosler 160gr partition and H870:
Start load 75.5gr/2982ft/sec
Mid load 77.5gr/3047ft/sec
Max load 79.5gr/3112ft/sec
and
Old Hodgdon paper data booklet for 154 - 162gr bullet:
79gr/3099ft/sec in 26" barrel

Hope that gives the general direction.
