7mm Rem Mag- Load- Starting Point

    Hi guys- long time....

Anyone got any load data for 7mm Rem Mag w/ 168 Berger VLD's?
Ultimately wanting to achieve approx 2900-3000fps at the muzzle but not sure where to start with powder types or weight.

Any starting point info would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers!

This is going from memory. Federal large rifle magnum primer, ADI 2217 71.5gr. Gave 3060fps from a 26” barrel.
Projectile was jammed 15 thou into the lands.

    Cheers Stug.
Barrel is 24" custom carbon with stealth over-barrel suppressor.
Maybe worth starting at 68gr and working up?

I'm trying to replicate (roughly) the Federal hybrid hunter factory ammo, as it seems to shoot well in my rifle, but can't get any in the country at the moment!
What sort of range are you getting out of the noslers @gonetropo?

I use 168vld over 73.5g 2225 in my rem mag

Gives me 3050 out of a 21.5" pipe

right so you keep ONE factory round aside...set up your dies for length/seating depth with it...giving you same or VERY similar bullet jump you are half way there.... velocity will be somewhere between 3/4 and maximum...being a factory loading it wont be super hot and being federal shouldnt be too mild.... you could if you happend to know what powder was used in factory load pull a round and measure it.... or if had chronicgraph fire factory load and keep going with reload till find same velocity...... or just put a not too hot load together and go shoot something.
    75/15/10 black powder matters

Federal will be mixing powders to get a 'secret recipe' I would imagine-
Yea going to just work up load to same (or very similar but maybe slightly higher) velocity as you say.

Hi @gonetropo, what recipe are you using with the 140gn nosler partitions, and what MV are you achieving?
Seem to only be able to find 150gn noslers?
Seems the berger 168gr VLD's I am after are about $350 per 100.. makes it a pretty pricy option!
