Thread: 7mm saum maybe quick load help?

Has anybody tried any 175gn loads with either rl26 or 2225 looking for a start point with the boringly awsome Sierra 175s iv decided I’m not having another rifle for farm work so am looking to load another combo to prolong the limited life of my bergers …

Further more what’s the deal with quick load is it an annual subscription or a one off cost?

2225 doesnt look like its any good mate

Much better off with Re26. I run 63gr of Re26 with a 162 Amax in my 7SAUM, it's looking like you may end up somewhere around 60-62gr with 175's, work up from a couple of grains lower.

Out of interest, in testing Re26 with 180 eldms in my 284win I got up to 58.5gr where i got the first signs of excess pressure.

Thank you very kindly 2209 is on the radar with that weight to I just need to see if I can grab some yet I’ll let you no how I go with the 26 another mate is doing well with 175 bergers and 2209 . My current 168 load is 63.6 I’ll button off on the numbers mentioned and see how I go thanks again

Yep 2209 is a goodun. I run it with the 180 eldm in my saum so id imagine the 175s will go well with it. Excellent accuracy and great es but from what ive read it can be pretty tough on barrels, but end of the day, theyll make more barrels

Yip their disposable I think even with a nasty barrel eating powder I’d see 10 years plus. Being spoilt for private land for meat gathering 90% of my public land hunting is really tramping with a heavy stick trying to beat personal bests
