    7mm08 150eldx seating depth

Hey guys. Just getting into reloading and I am trying to work up a load with 150eldx and 2208 in a Tikka t3. I have the long boltstop and mag already.
What I would like to know is what seating depth do the eldx generally like? I have read they like to be touching but have also read that tikkas may like a jump. I know every rifle is different but trying to find where to start.

73mm COAL was the sweet spot in my t3 from memory. Shot like crap at std SA length. All rifles are different though so you may need to experiment.

Factory precision hunter has a big jump and it shot mint in my t3.

When loading the 162gn I started with a 20thou jump and didn’t have to make any adjustments.

    So that’s pretty inconclusive..

Personally I’d start at 20 thou off lands since you are set up to load long.

Yep 73 mm in a Tikka sounds about right.

I found 50-thou jump (2.926" OAL [74.3MM] in my rifle) shot best in my T3x with 41Gr 2008 , this is over Hornady max but just under ADI max this was safe in my rifle but please be safe and work up, if you want to load to mag length you will have to drop the charge.
Hornady list 39 Gr and 2.8" OAL.
Factory Precision Hunter shot extremely well in my rifle and at a speed I could not get with ADI powders. they are loaded to 2.787" so don't get hung up on jump, If they weren't so expensive I would just use them.

Will do. Mainly for hunting and a bit of casual target practice.
