    7mm08 and 162 Eld Ms

Anyone using this combo? I have a ladder loaded up with varget to what should be sweet based on my fire formed case capacity and quick load giving reasonable velocity. I'm somewhat of a fan of slower moving heavy for calibre projectiles. Would load up the 180s in a second if i had the twist and mag length. Used 225 elds in my 308 for quite some time before i went back to shooting factory in it.

I’m new to hand loading and this is the first larger caliber round I’ve loaded. I’m using AR2209 46gr, 162gr ELD M, through a 22in Blaser 7mm08.
During my drop validation in near perfect conditions I shot 1.5in at 500yds and 2in at 600yds.
Went to the range in a 5-8mph wind and shot at 600yds inside moa. Take out the roughest shots and would have had 10shots damn close to 1/2moa.
I’m certainly sticking with this combo, and with some improvements in my loading I believe I can get better consistency.

46 grains of 2209 would be very compressed in my brass (nearing 112%). Sounds like you have great groups though.

Should be able to achieve 2600 ish out of a normal length barrel. Will be mean medicine. The eld m works very well at those sorts of speeds. Will still be a hammer out to 500 odd too

Loaded up to this for the ladder I'll shoot tomorrow. Quickload shows 62k at 41.4 grains with an muzzle time matching obt node at about 40.6 grains. Im only at 2.815" though.

I'm shooting 162gr ELD-M out of my Kimber 16" barreled 7mm-08. Stopped at 43 grains of CFE223 when accuracy looked good. Doing 2600fps. Shot a Red at 270m a few weeks ago, got 20m. Most have been bang flops, nothing gone more than 20-30m.

I'm using 41gr 2208 with 162gr in my 18inch 7mm08, with great accuracy. Will have to check my COAL as I'm running in a long action, tikka
Taken animals from 10meters out to 530meters with it.

I am getting a bit of compression but I am loading these individually as I’m outside my magazine length. I’m running NBTs 140s through the mag and those are looking bloody good as well. I’ve yet to validate drops but have a 3shot group of 1.5in at 400yds, 47gr load in those. Waiting on a few products I’ve been advertised to try to gain even better consistency

Tempted to cut mine but to be fair I'm happy at 22 inchs. I just worked up a load at 40.2grains of varget doing 2600 with an es of 4. 3 the same and one shot 3fps lower and one 3fps higher.

I get slight pressure at 41 grains. Got a .6 moa 5 shot group in ladder testing with an es of 4fps so think I'm done for now.

Yep, I'm using imr4350, not the best powder for it possibly but had some left over so gave it a try to use it up an it seems to be going really well, ended up using 47.5grs but seated a long way out running at 2700fps, 24" barrel. If I'd had some tho i would have used 2208.
