Quickload is a windows program it's just a prediction but can be tuned to be quite accurate.
Results for ADI max charges using 162 eld-x instead of 162 spbt 22in barrel, your 63.5 OAL and default case capacity
    ADI 2213 64Gr 2846 FPS 97% Burnt
    ADI 2217 70Gr 2907 FPS 99% Burnt
    ADI 2225 73.5Gr 2964 FPS 100% Burnt (109.7% fill)

I use 71 grs of 2217 with the 162 gr ELD X for about 3040 fps out of a Rem 700.

Thanks for that mate. Probably what I will land around. What primers, and I’m guessing that’s a 24” barrel?

Hey that real handy mate. The burn rate... is it optimal/recommended 100%? I’m guessing that means that powder has fully burnt prior to leaving the barrel...? Cheers

That's the amount of powder burnt in the barrel, surprised me that by the slower powder all burnt but it's a pretty compressed charge.

The OAL you quoted me... is that factory? I’m working off 68 from previous measurements atm...

Got that length from your first post, comparator measurements are no use to Quickload it needs to be from tip to base
ADI Manual OAL is 3.290 or 83.6mm

Ok, I think I have figured it out. So those stats are based on the OAL that I provided and then ADI has taken the recommended % off, for good seating depth? So am I right in assuming that I should be able to seat them a bit further back than they are atm (85mm - well on the lands) to 83.6mm? I think thats reasonable, my first pic looks like the projectile is well in the land anyway (second opinion?).

    Edit;
Excuse my lack of knowledge here...(hence why I have started this thread)

Whiteboard marker test is showing average of 83.6 CaseOAL. (Projectile pushed into case up to where land marks stop) Guessing I’m missing something? Do I back the round off by a further 10%? *confused face* or leave it?

    Help much appreciated.

Unless you’re experienced and can take pretty fine measurements, most people back off from lands 20 thou (0.5mm) and start playing with seating depth from there.

I see the point of confusion here I typed 63.5 OAL where in fact I used 85.0 OAL as stated in your first post. I was looking at the "case length' when i typed it.
    Sorry for the mix up

All good mate, yeah that fully confused me lol.(as you can see by the posts)

Half my fault as well, probably used the wrong terms?

WB marker test (average of 5 dummy rounds) shows
87mm OAL - projectile pressed into dummy case.

CaseOAL on left over cases from prev owner were was set at 85mm. However these were AMAX, not ELDX. Pretty similar though.

The 90+ measurement above included the comparator I believe. (So disregard)
Comparator measurement was 68mm. With 83.6 COAL it would read 66.6mm

Can we use OAL of 87mm and see what the recommended seating depth is for ELDX? Or is 83.6 default from the book?

I have a funny feeling that COAL 85mm is probably sound, I’m just trying to get my head around “the reason why?” rather than using old data.

    Feedback welcome.

    Cheers

    HK

I think I have some 2217 left over here in manawatu you could try if you wanted. My rem mag flat out hated it with the 162 ELDX haha. Using IMR 4831 now.

What length barrel are you running? I have some for now, but thanks for the offer mate.
