Does it have another name of equivalent in ADI...can't see it on Quickload....
running RL19 on 150 gn partitions (for bush 0 -300 yd) - would have to look up exact load, but less than 60gns.
And 64 - 65 gn 2217 with 162 AMAX - slightly compressed load, but careful, slow trickle with lots of tapping during filling helps.
Based on my experience with 300saum in various bullet weights and your QL results I would walk straight to n550 and try that.
Yep...N560 runs a little denser but crikey great velocity!
What did you make it from...I have little to no engineering ability... @MSL
Have you looked into a VLD type seating stem for your dies? Some of these have a different taper inside to avoid the ring left on the projectile.
Had the same with my saum used a drop tube and vld stem as was getting marks on the 162's
Mine's is pretty crude - a piece of straight copper pipe left over from my house build. A funnel cut as required and epoxied to the tube.
The secret then is to tip the powder into the funnel and create a swirling effect like water going down a plug hole. Much more effective than just tipping it into the funnel.
Obviously still need to put your normal funnel on the case unless you can do something smart with the bottom of the tube to fit nicely to the neck but then it will be limited to just one caliber.
Had it for many years and have meant to make a flash harry one but no need.
I seem to end up using the slowest powders for my cartridges so most of them are chocka and need the drop tube.
