Thread: 9.3 x 62? Can you find it in NZ

I would suggest the 30-06 would be a much better choice as an all round NZ cartridge. The 9.3 will kill stuff but so will a 458win. You just don't need that sort of horse power here. The 06 will make shooting at longer ranges easier too.

Ive got both a .30/06 and a 9.3x62.
I am not sure entirely why I have the 9.3 Mauser. Probably because I like the history of the cartridge, and the idea of dropping a big stag right now when Im in thick bush, when calling one in during the roar. It started out intended as a cartridge for stags and boar in Europe and ended up being the universal cartridge for Africa.

And it is older than the 30-06 as well
