I've used a lot of different ADI powders in rifles and never had any issues. But first time loading for pistol and things don't seem to stack up.

Yes, I did start well below the minimum for the 124gn plated bullets, but only as I wanted a slower load than their book speed. Anyway, I'll try these 4.3 and 4.5 on the weekend at the range and see what happens. But 675pfps seems very slow compared to what some folk in Australia and the U.S.

Another thing to note is I'm check headspace in my barrel, not a gauge. These are measuring 29.74mm, so quite a way out. Maybe if I seat them a bit deeper, this will push up the pressure and therefore the velocity?

A rule I was taught and stick to, always have 2 books/sources and check. So I use the Lee book, ADI book and ADI site....I'll go look at the hodgson though sounds interesting.

Yet when I emailed ADI about their 62gr FMJ with their 2208 and their 223 cases for a load min/max they said use the 63gr? as 'we dont have any load data" to suit. Like WTF????

Got my things sorted. 4.3gn keeps me in the game, but still a little inconsistency(shit thrower I think).

Thanks to those who commented and sent PMs.

My G17 loves 4.5 of ap70 accuracy wise. But crony gives an avg of 1040 (10 shot string) so only just making power factor. Am using 124gr berries but with a long oal.
The 4.0 of ap70 was just under power factor in the G17. Maybe a shorter oal will sneak the 4.0s in.

I loved ap50 but havent found any recently in the 2kgs.

    Cheers.

I crony'd a few loads on sunday cos I couldn't get AP50 and trying to get enough loaded ready for SI 3 gun, AP70 feels terrible and I haven't got a load I shoot well with yet.
3.7gr AP50 with 124gr CMJ Rnd nose, 28mm OAL from CZ sp01 avg-1061 very consistent, 15 fps spread
    4.4gr AP70 with 124gr CMJ Rnd nose, 28mm OAL from CZ sp01 avg-1077, anywhere from 1020 fps-1100fps

Yet a couple guys happily run CZ SP01, 4.3gr AP70 using the 124gr CMJ with Flatpoint and seated to 27.2mm, nearly compressed load, i'm just gonna scrounge every gram of AP50 i can for the next year and stick with what works

You extreme spread is interesting with the AP70. Very similar to what I got, 80-90fps. Settling for 4.4/5gn for me should keep my average in check too. I originally did look at AP50, but it appears there isn't much around, hence the reason for AP70. Will consider non ADI next time round too.

Yep I think I will drop ADI as well, I loved the ap50 but read they were going to stop manufacturing it and where changing their mixtures. AP70 is ok but I far prefer ap50 over it and as30 meters like crap.

I've shot a few weekends with a friends loads for his CZ Czechmate and they're a pretty speedy load with 700x, not sure what charge weight but were very nice to shoot and the closest i've felt to my ap50 loads, I may pick up 4lb and use that during the ap50 shortage.
