oi so i ended up with 162 gr hornadys.... sst and eldx.... and also some 2213sc for starters.....
im already unsure on choice of 162gr as much improvement over the 708 140gr trajectory 400 or so out. il see how it all goes, if i can get in that 2900 bracket il be happy with 2213 an 26 inch tube... otherwise il give some lighter pills a whirl an test on game.

Should be a step up in terms of wind drift and energy on target.
2217 or 2225 will get you to 3000fps+

Hey mate I'm getting around the 3000fps mark with 2213sc and 162 eldx. In my rifle it gave better accuracy than 2217 or 2225. You should be sweet

Cheers man, what length barrel was that, 26 yeh?

i wont be upset if its 2900, but if it were closest to 2999 the better .

i dont think i'll ever really know, i have some fellas who use that quick load an can punch in details to get a ball park with tested bullet drops ,but thats about all it is i spose. ball park.1

from all of that me 7-08s around 2750 fps ish with 140s, mild load, from some testing with hold over it was around 40-45 inch drop at 400 meters, im usin a moa dial scope so im goin to start using yards now just to confuse the issue in name of fair chase, an i will be attempting to dial in the critters, so shouldnt be a issue if its 2850 or 2950 reallyyyyy , couple more clicks now, whereas with me hold overs... id want it flat as it could be an would proberly be better off looking lighter projies. but i am keen to try this dial stuff, 400 yards for a while etc,

alot of kiwi hunting is out at that 400 yards most times, 500 yards is all i will need

let yas know an il be sure to ask a few Qs

oi, a bit of a told ya so moment for ya,
loaded up some rounds so far it looks like 62 - 63gr 2213sc is the accuracy load? but velocity wouldnt be too up there with a 26 inch barrel would it? what do ya think its doin?

it opened up noticably at 64 65? but didnt show pressure signs really... slightly cratered primer and necks gettin slammed pretty hard but bolt not sticky etc..

is it worth going up in to 66gr range, or is it uplikely to 'tighten' up without hitting pressure with this powder? (common theme?)

most likely going to settle with 62-63gr but further tomorow testing, an just blow the SST at ranges for practise with the Dial scope... will hunt with the eldx first preference as finding bits n pieces in the dirt bank.

guna get onto that 2217 later tho for the eldx i rekon ay.

let us know ya thoughts... i say common theme cos i guess everyone wants that velocity and if the pressure comes first this would sound familiar yeh?

Fair enough. Ive never used 2213 but looks a bit slower speed in the book. For my purposes the 7rm has power to spare though so i would use What i had.
