    Alliant 4000 MR for 300 WSM 20"

    Hi everyone

I have picked up a 300WSM with a 20inch barrel I want to reload for, with the shortages the only powder i can find is 4000 MR.

Has anyone used this for 300wsm and have some data they could share with me please.

    Cheers

Its only powder I have used in my 300WSM.
    I use 65gns with 200gn ELD-X for about 2720fps.
I went up to 66gns but more very slightly more accurate at 65gns
Rifle is a Kimber Montana 300wsm cut to 20 inches

Try botany hnf for powder, they had a few tubs of various powder that may be more suitable, I was shocked to see a lb of RL26 which I took home with me.

I went there on Sunday while driving around looking for powder, only stuff I could find was 4000mr at guncity so ill give it a shot. I do have some 2208 I can use for some lighter projectiles. First time loading for a 300wsm

You wanna swap some 2209 for 2208? 2209 much better in the 300wsm. Pm me and will see what we can do

IMR 4064 is another for the 300wsm. I used this with the 150gr projectiles.
Borris and built to suit like this.
