Was wondering if anybody had any experience with the American Eagle 50gr varmint tipped stuff gun shitty is selling atm. Have a bushmaster with a 1 in 8 twist so think it may be too light but never know.

Im wondering the same. Had a mate use it in his 1-9 AR and said it was rubbish but im wanting to put it thru a 1-12 CZ 527 so was thinking the 50gr would be ok.
Not saying it wont shoot in a 1-9 as im not sure if my mate had any luck with heavier grain or not. Might have just been him lol.
Anyone use it in a 1-12 twist?

Opps, think my mates poor results may not have been the ammo lol. Check this review out Ammo Review - AE AR223 50gr Tipped Varmint - YouTube
Saw another written review stating in a 1-12 twist it was between .6 at best to 1.5 moa at worst. Shot over different days etc.
Im getting me some for my 1-12 twist. The guy in the above youtube review was shooting a 1-9 twist so you should be ok with this stuff. But it may be right on the border for a 1-8.
Cheers.

My Marlin with its 1-9 twist does not group well with the 50-55gr have gone with 63gr and now just loaded up some 68gr.
Its the only ammo i have so far tried in my 1in12 howa. Shoots just on half moa in mine.

In a quality rifle, lighter stuff will group well with a fast twist rate
My 1:7" AR shoots extremely well with 55gr, and my 1:8" .223AI shot tiny groups with 40 through to 80gr
No such thing as "too fast twist" if using decent bullets.
American eagle bullets might not be "decent" though
I can left you know in another month when i get time to head to the range. mine is a 1 in 9 twist
I saw good reviews regarding this ammo, seem accurate enough for what i wanted out for, and when i saw it for 500rd for $399 a couple of months ago, i grabbed two of them as it was going to be just for plinking and in the back of my mind, it would be cheap shells for reloading. (ideally i wanted Training Hornady ammo, but couldn't find any at the time)
Just grab a few boxes and give it ago,
It appears they are 50gn Vmax projectiles.
Shut up, get out & start pushing!
My Rem 223 (1:12) came with a few boxes of the American Eagle 50gn Hollow Points, rather than those ballistic tips, but it liked them a lot. Fairly consistently a shade under 1/2 MOA. Sounds like it's probably a pretty similar loading to these ones.
American Eagle is a premium Federal brand, AFAIK.
That's hilariously unlikely to happen at .223 speeds
i hope not i've 1000rd in a 1:9 to shoot. i'll find out in a couple of weeks.
