I have a few boxes of these which i inherited. They seem pretty flash judging by the price of them. But i can't find much info online about them.

I have shot the 55s out of a 22-250
Wicked performance to say the least. They would be my favored projectile in that caliber
Personally I would drill a larger hole up front.
They leave a fist size hole in red dear.
The CX range replaced them. They're the Hornady version of Barnes if that makes sense
I used to use the 70 GMX in my 22-204 at 3150, fantastic performance

I used the factory hornady ammo with that projectile, worked awesome, goats hated it.
I've used the 70 grain in my .223 and they worked really well. Accurate to shoot and being monolithic the theory is no lead in the meat. To get the best expansion I found they need to be going fast so not so good past perhaps 250mtr. Haven't tried the 55g but they should go faster and expand well.
Nice. Im still getting used to shooting my 308, so chasing deer deer with these might be a go. Easier to aim and shoot. Bit quieter too.
Judging from my father-in-laws reloading book they were flying at about 3000fps

yes.... they will pass through .the 50grn barnes ttsx work very well for me. these should be similar.
75/15/10 black powder matters
The TSX, TTSX, GMX, CX, etc turn a little calibre into a bigger calibre compared to similar weight conventional projectiles, staying together for much better penetration
The Hammer projectiles are like a bomb going off, losing their nose with the shank left to penetrate, much more aggressive than the Barnes & will kill faster

So maybe this is a dumb question. But im currently hunting with a 308 with 165sst.
Im new to the 308 and have a wee bit of a flinch thanks to a few mustakes early on.
Ive shot 22lr a heap. And shot rabbits, cats ect at a whole heap of ranges.
Would i be better off with the 223 gmx 55gr seeing its easier to shoot?
I would have thought that your better off with the 308 because a hit in the right spot at 200m is a kill. The rusk of an animal running off with 223 is higher.
