That for the 243? Adam would be very good beat, there not much he hasn't typed with it. Would be my first beat, little freight is nothing

    yeah, 243.

I like the sierra gamekings that willhelm sells at $29 for 20 but maybe something a little more accurate would be nice with a SST or ballistic type tip?

I'm mostly using 80gr fed power shoks, have tried 100gr rem corelokt both factory loads.

you would probably benefit from a bit of load development. Just switching bullets may or may not make any difference. Is it the 85gr hpbt gamekings he uses? that would be the most consistently accurate bullet I seen in quite a few .243. Drop me a PM if you don't have any luck close to home.

Yep, those are the ones he uses. They are grouping about 1.5-2inches right now.

Well got back to the NZDA open range today. Bought a cheap Caldwell shooting rest recently. Only a plastic one but added a couple of sandbags to keep it down and took my time.

Here's the best group with factory ammon - 80gr Fed's SP power shok at 100m. This was after I'd shot 12 rounds over the last hour to sight it in, then let it completely cool. The silencer really tightens the groups. This is 1inch.

With the barrel warmer, groups opened up a bit but you can see from the patches are all within the dead deer ring.

Here's a group later with 3 shots of 58gr Berger handloads.

Yep, thats 20mm. Even more impressive.

I'm a happy bunny (shooter) now.

Just to make your day that 20mm group isn't, it is 20mm less 6.17 so say 14mm

Groups are measured centre to centre otherwise those who use the bigger cannons would be even more handicapped
