In two different guns must say not really... Both accurate as and way nicer to shoot...
Will be trying a different load soon but I expect it ll be better again !!
"This is my Flag... Ill only have the one ..
What are you talking about...? Velocity or accuracy?
Suppressors generally increase velocity marginally for the same length of barrel in any calibre. I have found about 40-80 fps in medium sized cartridges.
Most people find suppressors improve accuracy or at least maintain it for any calibre. Possibly because they shoot better with them on, but also adding weight to the end of the barrel can help stabilise recoil oscillations.
Shortening a barrel will reduce velocity. The amount of shorting and the calibre used varies. A 6.5x55 is likely to be 25-40 fps for every inch you chop off.
Shortening a barrel will not reduce accuracy in fact the opposite is likely to occur. A shorter barrel is stiffer for length.
Recrowning a barrel after shortening it may improve accuracy if the recrowning is better than the original. The reverse is also true.
The only other occasion that perceived accuracy may change when you shorten a barrel, is when you are using open sights and the distance between the front and the rear sight is reduced. The rifles accuracy however is actually not affected.
I run a suppressed 18" 6.5x55 Blaser and can get close to 3000 with 100s, 2900 with 120s, and 2700 with 140s. A little down on a 24 inch barrel but the only living being that knows the difference is me, while I am getting through the bush.
Me and half taihape are shooting suppressed 6.5s
I am getting 2720 for my original length and would now never shoot with out a suppressor
My favorite sentences i like to hear are - I suppose so. and Send It!
Mine has no noticable difference suppressed or not.
Got a new gizmo chrony coming, so will see if it give similar speeds.
Do what ya want! Ya will anyway.
No loss in performance - make sure she stays on tight though.
No difference.
The way he talks to me sometimes you would think so!
