    ar2209 loads

hey all, just wondering if anyone has loaded any 300wm rounds with the adi ar2209 powder? and if so what loads did you use? i currently use it for my .243 and 30-06 loads with excellent results and it says online you can use it for 300wm too, or should i go with another powder? im just trying to save myself from having heaps of different powders etc. cheers

Magnums tend to perform better with slower burning powders. You also can prevent ignition, velocity/accuracy issues by having the fuller case, slow burning powders give you. But every rifle likes what it likes. No harm in trying it out.

Looking at the ADI & Hodgdon data it should work great with the lighter projectiles

Check the Hodgdon data as it lists the actual projectile used, not just the weight, which makes a difference if it is a Barnes for instance.

    P.S. Adi 2209 is H4350

72gr is adi max I think so you have room to move. Mine is a mild load but all I need

Because its harder to push a heavier projectile, which pushes up pressure...

Yeah different powders have different burn rates which are applied to different rounds. This is due to the case capacity to bore size to projectile weight relationships. (Very generally).

would the faster burning powder be better for shorter barrels?

It would burn more of the powder quicker....
