Yes from memory it’s basically win 748 but check their load sheets to confirm

    Greetings Three O' Three,
Assuming that the powder is close to W748 it would probably work OK in the .303 but only in full power loads. Some of the internet posts specifically states that loads should not be reduced as would be the case. Some data recommends that W748 should be used with Winchester or magnum primers and more importantly what data do you use? To my mind AR2206H would be far a better choice as there is plenty of data for both full power and reduced loads.
    Regards Grandpamac.

    Greetings Again,
Went back and cross referenced the Belmont action rifle and the Hodgdons W748 data to find not much similarity. I think I would need better data before I used it. It seems to be aimed at high use NRA shooters rather than general rifle use.
    Regards GPM.

I think that was about belmonts 763 which turned out to be Alliant powerpro mr 2000.
They wernt very forthcoming with infomation when asked if I recall correctly.
I'd go with grandpa's advice 2206h or even 2208 if you can get them there's plenty of data for both. IMR 3031, 4064 4895 and 4320 also have stacks of data

There's been many discussions about all Belmont's powders.

The most useful trick is to search from Google - for example typing 'Belmont Action Powder NZ Hunting Shooting' brings up a whole section of results from this forum. If you look at the search box it shows: belmont action rifle powder site:www.nzhuntingandshooting.co.nz

This way of searching is far more comprehensive and accurate than the forum Search function.

Good luck buying some... I've been trying to buy some AR 747 from them since January but they're holding onto every grain. I'm getting a bit desperate.

Winchester primers are best. It’s terribly filthy dirty stuff
