Chap in Fernside used to work for Rod Woods who he said taught him how to reassemble the actions...trickier than the disassembly!

Yup. He would be my go-to for my gunsmithing work.

I did a lot of shooting with a Sav 99 in 243. ended up at 18" barrel due to crown damage and a rust pit. Had the same complaints from my mates. Flame thrower, loud and good shock wave.
I found H414 / W760 (87 gr vld) worked well but I was only looking to shoot deer and goats to 200 mtr. It would shoot 1.5" groups day in day out without a lot of mucking around.
The Chamber also was tight. Had to take the cases down to the minimum size every time and trim as well. Learnt the importance of cycling every sized case through the chamber before moving on.
Low pressure Trailboss loads of 58gr vmax for short range rapid fire on goats was very successful. Would suggest that both H414 and Trailboss are not as clean as the RL26 I use in my bolt 243 with heavy bullets

Nah, he was told not to use a Chrony

@Tikka7mm08 what program or app are you using to measure your groups?
I have recently had to replace my computer hard drive and had always used On Target. Have yet to reinstall OT so looking at options if there is better available. Ta.

App is Range Buddy. Too windy for LabRadar and suppressor with ext mic...and yep wasn't worried. Should be around 3050-3100fps. Need to prove it wasn't a fluke so will test again with chrony...still hates 90gn BTs.
