Thanks Mauser, I had heard that. I would have liked to try Federal, or Federal Match preferably, but when I rang around the suppliers last week, no-one had any, I couldn't find any for sale retail either, I shall keep looking.

Yep, that is usually the response. At least CCI subsonic .22 ammo is available. . . . to an extent. Also factory (subsonic) .300 Blackout ammo.
One thing you could try is polishing the inside of the bolt if the spring is binding a little it could slow the firing pin strike down, I have seen it in a couple of Rem 700's and heard of it in other makes, it doesn't
take long to do.
I've started seating them closer to flush, I could feel on the arm of the press when they were getting snug and didn't force it further as I had been doing. No issues at the range with this lot so maybe I had been A; not seating them within enough striking distance of the firing pin or B; cracking the priming pellet by using too much force. I will look at changing too Federal when I can pick up a few hundred of them.
