Magnetospeed are pretty reliable, sure you have the issue of it being attached to rifle,. But how bigger string do you need to get an idea of the velocity.

Except for the attachment issues and possible zero shifting, the magnetospeed is still recognised as the most accurate device for MV. All the others calculate MV.

Garmin will be a good choice and great value. I now have Bulletseeker, had heaps problems with the first Gen. Then got a replacement. Still missing a shot in every now and then. So far Labradar worked best for me. I did a review on Bulletseeker on here. Toyota or Tesla, proven or new tech. It’s all good to play with!
To be fair I don't find the labradar to have issues if you set it up well.
I do use the microphone though.
I only use for load development and then validate using the kestrel that has applied ballistics that allows for atmospherics and the most accurate results.
The labradar speeds generally correlate to the validation results anyway or close to it.

My favorite sentences i like to hear are - I suppose so. and Send It!
I'll maybe eventually replace my Labradar with a Garmin but am in no hurry. The LR will remain the gold standard for a while yet.
Also lee308's experience unfortunately supports my belief to not buy the first model released of anything.
@lee308 You were dead unlucky with the Bulletseeker. I think it is up to Mk 4 now and has had a name change. You wouldn't expect that much grief from a new release given the pump ups it was getting on release from gun writers etc.
will probably get the garmin at some point myself...
Yeah, you can see how inaccurate those youtube reviews are, full of shit youtubers getting paid to tell lies. I was skeptical at the start but I watched Mark and Sam ELR channel who I have respect for and Mark did say it worked well. But giving how many real paid user are having huge problems almost 100%, you can see that no online reviews are worthy nowadays.
Garmin will not be a big seller given the current gun supply issues and money issues will last well into 2026.
Well, nothing is a big seller in NZ unless it's good value like a Tikka or a Toyota.
