    also if the subtensions are the same as the 3-12x, you might just be able to select that reticle and change the magnification range.

    from what I can find online (scopeuout website), it looks like the BDC subtensions are the same for the Vixen V1 bdc 2-8x, 3-12x and 4-16x, all with ranging mag at 8x. So can can just pick the 3-12x and change the min/max magnification to use it for the 2-8x in Strelok. Glad you ask the question though, as I wasn't aware of the DIY reticle option until now!
