Anyone tried it? Worth it? Results? Other suggestions for lapping techniques?

I have heard mixed views on it. I dont know anyone in NZ to have tried it either. I will only ever hand lapp if needed. Less chance of over doing things. I use an old rod and brush with a plug and make a lead button and use that with lapping paste. Bit of elbow grease and somtimes hard to start but have had good results.
Wildman, Never heard of the Tubbs system being used here.
I have no idea of how to hand lap and I seen this system on TM today... Expensive but if it gets results...
I would check with a few smiths to get their opinon before trying it. Hand lapping is a piece of piss and I would hazzard a guess, safer than fire lapping if something is not right.
I have used it twice.
Once with an old 243 years ago & it worked well
Then with the Barrett 98B with the original barrel, I don't think it made much difference but that barrel was a bucket of poo, a big one at that....

Considering buying one TBH, i've read pretty much good things, bar one guy who was having issues with cast bullets in a revolver.
I've often wondered about this too Wildman.

Seems most people had good success with it. Although I have read of average results elsewhere.
