    Feel corrected then
He said only remove the decapping pin, not the button. That applies only if the brand of die allows that and the decapping pin is not integral with the button.

I use this method all the time when load developing when I start firing a load and know straight away it is not worth continuing. Leaves me with rounds to pull apart. I always resize the neck to re-establish neck tension b4 loading again.

Depends on the style of die @Micky Duck some ( most but not lee ) you can remove just the pin and leave the expander button on or another scenario as you are really only resizing the case mouth is to wind the decapping rod up so it doesnt touch the primer.

It depends on your brand of dies mine are redding so you can remove the decapping pin and still leave the sizing button in so you are sizing and not removing the primer.

yep just take the deprimer out and resize them and don,t put f all lube on or if you are worried wind the resize die back as you only need to resize the neck then chamber each case to make sure it will chamber and as others say the dents will fire form out all good

I just read properly hes using unique which is good stuff, when I startes out I had some lee lube and dented nearly every bloody shoulder no matter how sparingly I tried to use it.

Yeah @Dorkus bin the gun and get a proper calibre

Nah I use spray on lube and sometimes go too hard out and all the necks get that. They are sweet and will fireform out.

This can also happen if you get buildup of lube in your sizer over time so usually strip and assemble with a wipe and some brake clean... should be able to snake some from work

I'm not binning my pig. Just found a recipe that shoots, need to chrony it but should retain killing power to 350yds with a 150gn projectile.

DO NOT TRY TO REMOVE LIVE PRIMER this is covered in every manual for good reason....bit like juggling chainsaw...yeah you might get away with it 99 times but the 100th will bite you in the arse big time...Im a tight wad scruge Mc Duck but at 7c per primer why would you risk it????
just chamber the empty case with projectile removed and fire the primer off...dont poke barrel into your best polarfleece shirt to muffle the noise or it will have burn holes in it ( dont ask how I know this)
better to be safe than sorry.

My redding FL dies do the same if I'm not careful with my 260 brass.
I use a spray lube and not much, but I have to be really careful with not having too much lube. Apparently this is common with Redding dies.

Funnily enough my Lee FL die has never dented a case.

could be because they have a wee hole of about 1mm dia to allow excess to get out.... I dont get issue with my lee or hornady sets either but the redding set I do.
