I know a lot but it seems less every day...
you just CANNOT swap the wifes bichon for gunpowder.no matter how tempting it may be...and seemed like a good idea at the time, yes it may have pissed in your coffee and chewed on the latest copy of NZHunter mag...but seriously the fall out will be terrible, and the couch isnt that comfy.....
75/15/10 black powder matters
Lets see whether 41.5gr is a load for 180gr .303 in any Mulwex / ADI powder.
From their 2013 handbook
The answer is: almost.
Max load for ADI AR2208 with this bullet weight is 41.0gr
and they list 42.0gr for a 174gr bullet.
But max loads for 2206 and 2206H are 37.5 and 38gr so you need to be quite sure its not one of those !
Next, lets look at whether the batch number is about right.
From my records of using AR2208 in the 303, I have:
1998 MEM3288 (packed on 09-96)
2005 MEM4146
2007 MEM4295
2009 MEM4534
I used different bullet weights and in different rifles so won't post here what they were. PM me if you'd like numbers, but I'd recommend doing your own load development from book minimum as above, assuming you have the right powder.
AR2208 did come in grey 4kg bottles and there was a post about one a year or two back here, so a person could well have transferred powder to smaller one like this for convenience, but you'd think the batch number wouldn't match and the actual powder type could have been way different.
Does anyone know whether all MEM batches were AR2208 ?
We know the powder is from pulled commercial rounds, so we know the lot number on the bottle has nothing at all to do with the powder in it.
Thanks cigar, id missed that.
Highland is a brand if factory ammo not bullets as far as i know so theyve gone to some trouble making the label but its not a load recipie.
Perhaps it was actually highland ammo he pulled and there were 41.5gr if whatever it is in each one.
ALL BETS ARE OFF AS TO WHAT POWDER IT REALLY IS.
S&B ammo I think the post said.
BRO throw it away with NO label and not sure what it is. DO NOT GO THERE even if you are a well-versed reloader as Micky Duck said you could lose your eyes if not worse stick to what you know it didn,t cost you anything. Be safe have no dought you are playing with fire.
Ahh c'mon, do a ladder test on it already, we're all dying to know how it goes...
I know a lot but it seems less every day...
