    Easy 243

Don't you love it when your load development takes 3 rounds!! Been shooting factory ammo with the finlite 243 I got of buzzman because I had been slack at sorting a load.Really like this rifle ,caliber for the kids we have shot a heap of animals with it now , lots of bang flops.Got of my ass today and thought I would spend the day sorting a load for it.Started at manual Max 43g 2209 loaded 3 then another 3 just to make sure it wasn't a fluke job done!!!

How do you know the job is done?

It might shoot even smaller groups with more/less powder or a different projectile...now you'll never know....

Seriously I'm just jealous, I still need to sort my 243 loads. I'm still down at 38gr of 2209 for both 87 and 100gr projectiles, and my groups look nothing like yours. Im planning to bed my rifle, but want to see what it can do as-is first.

The trick is not to worry about speed . Chase deer not speed.

A man after my own heart....... wise fella (not sure if he was Chinese or not) once said "many a great load has been ruined by a chronograph"
if you are shooting deer at sub 200 yards and lets face it 99% are sub 100 if bush hobbiting speed matters stuff all.

My last three shots at deer have all been sub 20 metres!
Still managed to miss one of them though

Did something similar with a mates Sako, tried a random load a grain below max to get him in the field, 1 hole groups at 100, took it out to 500 with the CDS and the chrony, done. Never known a Sako to take much effort to shoot.
