IN the 243 the 2 fellow were both shot across a small valley as they climbed up away from me about 125 mtr with a muzzle velocity of 3000 fps. First was hit in the pelvis, smashed the hip joint and I found the base of the bullet under the skin having gone through the gut and the sternum. The second was hit higher up the body just off from the spine and exited out though a foreleg.
The red was neck shot so that does not tell you much about the bullet performance. Will say that while it did not make a direct hit on the spine it did blow out the major blood vessels with a 4" exit wound.
Must admit it was nice to have a clean carcass to butcher and no wastage.

I was using 143 Gr ELD-X's in my 6.5 06 until they were no longer available. Then I found a box of 130 Gr ELD-M's and have only just used the last of them. Longest shots so far with this new cannon were a stag at 512 and a pig at 420yds, both with the 130 Grainers.
In both cases they pretty much fell on the spot, so no issues there. Problem is now Ive run out and are in to 129 Gr Nosler LRAB's. Be surprised if theres much difference; I mean. dead is dead isn't it?

Used the 140 ELD-M's on four sika stags. 85m-235m. All dropped on the spot and all bullets penetrated right through the shoulders leaving a reasonable sized hole. I now prefer them to the 143 ELD-X at least on lighter deer.

At sensible speeds I don't think I have used a better bullet in any calibre than a 140gr eldm in 6.5
