    First Reloads

All my bits finally showed up today that i needed to Finnish my reloading set up, so i decided to spend the day mucking around tumbling brass, re-sizing, dummy loading. Then decided to load up some rounds for the .308 win. Found some really useful info from Ballistic study's web site (must remember to flick him a donation for all the free info). Any way i decided to use some Sierra match king 165 to start off with, adi ar2208 was the power Nathan recommended for a 24" barrel so though id give it a try. Here is how it went.Name: 20160329_204223.jpg

I think you're done at 44 fella. Cant even see the powder burns from the barrel

Nah.... awesome mate and good to see you using Nathans knowledge base. He's a star in my books and deserves much credit just bought his fourth book over Easter as I was so jealous at every other bastard it seemed getting out or getting ready to go and shoot deer. I have to wait til Sunday due to a negative balance of brownie points currently...

Exceptional efforts for first reload... Bet you're not going back to factory loads now are ya!!!

No i didn't, i need to get one tho. I made sure every load was within .02 gn most were bang on. They seem to shoot nicely. Time for some long range goats once i get the load sorted.

Nice. Gotta be happy with that first up. My experiences with my first handloads were similar. A great feeling knowing you made them. Even better when you shoot your first animal with them.

Hey great stuff. What are you weighing the powder with? Just wondering if that's really .02 grain (hundredths of a grain) or .2 (tenths)

Hi WillB Gem Pro 250. Do the fast bit from the Lyman 1200 then double check on the gem pro. One granule of ar2208 weights .02 gr iv found

You will find that Sierra put out very accurate pills. The 65gr GK and the 85gr HP are not only very accurate but sit deer on their backside . Nice rounds . Welcome to the dark side.
