Come to think of it I remember reading somewhere that using jacketed boat tail bullets load backwards isn't a bad idea. Something about balancing better because of where the weight is at subsonic speeds. Can't see the hp working to well though? Easier to loads some of shooternz's cast bullets and be done with it

yes I KNOW your .308 hps are awesome...absolutely plurry fantazmalastic...the single one Ive retrieved is 14mm across
havent yet seen add for your .45 cal hollow points...if you got em please show em.....the picture on trademe of .45 cal ones looks great but as Im going to be using single shot break open I can experiment somewhat as seating depth wont be an issue at all

I don't have a .45 HP mould only the flat point with the plain base and hollow base, I don't think you need a HP .45 it is already big enough
and are very soft, I doubt you will recover any of them unless shooting a T-Rex, The guys shooting the 280 gr FP .44's at 1000fps are not
recovering any bullets from shooting pigs they just flip them over and keep going, Heres a HP you might like.

The reverse FMJBT is an ideal shape for flying sub/transsonic, and it will hit a target hard with its bottom-meplat. But it won't expand much as the lead core tends to be of a hard alloy, so yes, go for @shooternz's bullets. These don't come with a boat tail but are flat bottomed as they have the gas checks. Not sure how crucial the gas checks are for sub/transonic loads.

Don't really need gas checks for sub loads, but they do help with any lead fouling they keep the base square and if you want velocity over 1400fps
