I use shortgrained rice, and a squirt of jif. Works ok for me, cheaper than chips, and saves the hassle of buying the 'proper' stuff.
I do however cover the tumbler mouth with a rag to control any dust.

The best camouflage pattern is 'hold still and be quiet. '
I came across one die maker that actually reccomended using fired brass (carbonized). Said it never caused any jammed dies...
As for the obvious question (would that ruin the polished surfaces / cause precision issues), no thoughts from them. Personally i wouldnt resize dirty brass without at least cleaning the outer necks.
Could give this rice thing a try. Will i suddenly feel like rice tumbling again only 10mins later?
