They are 1/2 inch group at 100. Ive been reluctant to use them at the closer distance I tend to shoot at deer .(bush etc)
Question is being “ interlock” should the Hornady be ok at 50 and function and not “ blow up” as Ive read ( or is that in the past)
and allow me to take the longer shot as theyre ballistically better.
Are there different types of bullets in the hornady super performance SST range.
    Cheers in advance.
The interlock won't stop them blowing up.
However they will be perfectly fine and will give you a bit more range out of your 16" barrel over soft points.
I would avoid hitting the main shoulder bone up close but other than that you'll be fine.

Second answer, yes there is other projectiles loaded in superformance. Not labelled SST though. I think the only other one in .308 is the cx projectile which is a monolithic ie copper no lead, which tend to work well up close but not so good out further.

be careful when shooting first couple of rounds...PLEASE wear ear and eye protection...a mate had two boxes of these with his brand new left handed sako and the pressure signs were VERY troubling.... popped and flattened primers in some of the cases and looked fine in others..put me right off supreformance and yes the ywere 150grn loadings.
    75/15/10 black powder matters

I’ve shot over 500 plus rounds off 139gr sst and never had an issue with pressure. 15-20 years ago they were a hotter load. As for animals only lost a few. And more down to shooter error
