    Something a little thicker than water? like blood or failing that old sump oil. Maybe your clearance is a bit off on the 223.

    I am happy to send it to you so you can whack the bejeezus out of it with your 223 ..... as I found out it pops the 9mm primers very easy .... maybe you will have better luck , .let me know

    If the 223 case has a lot of space around the outside the water will be pressuring down the sides of it rather than into the case and out the bottom end, is the case loose in the water chamber? Try sleeving it and see if that fixes things

    cheers , but there aint that much room ..... the 5.56 is close to the 9mm in butt size ..... it should work as easy as the 9mm each time , but it just doesn't
