I have returned to a differnt world.

For the past 10y I have done very little shooting. I see Mitch posted the date on a new barrel he fitted in my .284 as 2019. I only fired it a few weeks ago for the first time.

Primers are now some brand I have never heard of and $34.00 per 100, powder is approaching $200.00 and they wont ship it and projectiles are scarce. It seems you can't buy anything from over seas that can be bolted to a gun. My ACTAR NF scope is now $7800.00 FFS. I think that is double what I paid for it.

Poor bloody gunsmiths are charging roughly the same though.

What are people thoughts on these Whiteriver primers? I tried one tray and they were nice and tight in the pocket and I picked up 10fps over CCI BR in a 22-250. ES seemed ok but I would need a lot more shooting to prove that out. Is there a better primer?

As for powder who else thinks we need to get smarter and help the local shops by pre ordering 12 to 18 months of powder so we can get it in a decent quantity. Although I suspect the wholesalers are only getting what they are given and nothing more.

Fortunately I have pretty good stock on hand so I'm not completely out in the cold. How things have changed!

I have used several hundred White River primers in substitute for Federal 210. In loads for 243W, 30.06 so far. If I'm seeing any difference it's minor at best. I think for many loads just straight swapping of Federal for White River should work well.

LOL Na I never set foot in a supermarket. That's woman's work.

At first glance I thought the white rivers were ok too. Thanks for the feed back.

Just had another mate spot me 1 1/2 pound of RE25. I still have a few thousand Federal primers and Hornady projectiles left so I'll be good for a while now.

Don't do three shot groups or you get bagged badly.
If you do do three shot group, NEVER admit to it on this Forum!

It's not enough to put 51 holes in a piece of paper.

It's a good amount to get a representative sample from a population. Maybe even 2.
