It's nothing about achieving anything its the fact I have loaded ammo for 38 years never had a scare .You tube stuff evening then it's rare normally pistol or semi blow ups ,just think the chances of a bolt action blowing up to kill would be rare

Even with the guys in this post already saying they have blown guns up??.There is a local guy here missing fingers. and another guy finger and eye. Just because you say its safe to load whatever you can into rifles doesn't make it so.

so answer me this...WHY did Paul Mauser put in the third lug????

Why do marketing teams claim "3 rings of steel"

do a quick google search and you will find bolts that HAVE FAILED...

really dont know what you trying to say/achieve here unless you out right trolling it makes no sense at all.

That doesn't mean they won't, why play with fire, i am sure you would rather have both your eyes and not half a face if the bolt does come apart. Why even risk it.

thats what they are SUPPOSED TO DO..... why Im grateful the makers of my model 70 built it so strong... the gases vented out through hole on left and down into mag well...I still wore a face full of grit.... the CASE HELD TOGETHER.... and I thank the good lord it did... swelled out so far the case head is permanently stuck in end of bolt...the web area...bit between barrel and bolt has raised out about 1mm and about 1mm long.....sort of looks like a mini belt on a magnum.... the lug which had the wee extractor in side of it swelled and broke around extractor claw... the lug itself looks to have expanded outwards SLIGHTLY.....
the really bad cases of bolt in face were often hangfires with dud ammo going off as bolt was opened .....bugger that for game of soldiers....
Ive read of two cases where a .308 has been fired through a .270......both shooters survived, one rifle poked the other was ok/salvagable.
about the safest round/powder combo Ive seen and reloaded is the wee 7.62x39mm case using AR 2206 powder....or trailboss...its nearly impossible to put too much in case.... BUT if you change out that powder to a fine ball powder you can do so easily.... and resulting loads could well put you in ambulance in bad way...

Well I believe there was a chap on the west coast recently that was flown to hospital with the rifle bolt still embeded in his face as a result of using reloaded ammunition with incorrect powder used for purpose.
Seen pic's of the rifle and I suspect he was lucky (if you can say that) to survive! Barrel blown off, bolt lugs sheared off as well as handle

I'm not risking anything I'm enquiring about the fact bolt actions are rather strong ,one Muppet on here sends a link of a blown up ar15 not what I was asking about it's a semi .Then everyone jumps on there the high horses saying I'm being foolish ,like what fuck I don't push the envelope on my reloading
