    IMR 4955-7mm08

Asking for a mate who is just starting down the rabbit hole.
He has a Tikka 7mm08 and has got some hornady 139grain interlock flatbase soft point, picked up a pound of IMR4955, any of you guys have recipe for this as cannot find anything with the lighter 139grain pills. Much appreciated.

Yes IMR4166 is the one for the 7mm08 same burn rate as 2208
The other new IMR powder that will work in the 7mm08 is IMR4451
IMR 4955 is best in the .300 Win Mag
Try trading it for something more suitable, I have IMR4166 but have no use for 4955
2206H is good in the 7mm08 with 139 grain bullets should be easiest to find.

Looks likes it would be suitable for 150 grain and up but no data for lighter bullets. Looks like it goes ok with the heavies, maybe keep it and find something in the medium burn range to use with the 139s as suggested above.

Alternatively, try and get some heavier pills and he'll be away, I can't figure out which is the harder to find at the moment, powder or bullets

IMR 4895 would be my pick, very easy to work with and very good in the 7mm08.

There seems to be a few of the ppu soft point projectiles around in the 174gr.
I've used the 162gr ppu soft points in 7mm08 and they seem pretty good value for money
