    Kimbe MA 708 load development

Bought this wee fella a while back after missing my MA 308 that I used exclusively for 7 years and that did everything I asked it to. Couldn't find another 308 so the 7 will do I thought Name: 20230514_205147.jpg

3180 grams as pictured with 18 inch barel. A wee bit heavier than I was aiming for but has a solid scope and mounting so will take a knock.

So I have been thinking for some while what load to run.
It made sense to use the 162eldm as I have plenty and the previous 308 performed well with the 168 at 2550fps

Right then. My devised load was to use the 162 win760 and magnum primer.

To cut to the chase, load development and sighting in was done in 11 rounds down the tube! Another 2 rounds of a higher charge to realize I had already hit the node.
Note that I only shoot 2 shot groups due to it being a noodle thin barrel and it is rare to need more than one shot let alone 2

I chronnied it today at 2484fps in which I was a little disappointed but when compared to the previous 308 168@2550 the 708 has 200 fps and 200 ft/pounds more at 600 yards So win/win!

Next will be to get out and blood the new machine

Oooh! Kimbers in 708 are just the bees knees! So light and handy

I had an 84m blued/wood in 708 but sadly had to sell it and my browning auto 12g post the 2008 gfc when things went a little south
The guy i sold it too still has it n shot lots of deer with it.

She's surprisingly mild to shoot for a light short barrel rifle too

Their stocks are excellent for recoil.

Shot like a laser today. 4 reds shot between 300 and 400 yards.
Impressive wee shooter. Love the light kimber trigger and the vx3 fire dot. Great combo
