It’s a tricky one but it looks like you want two long range rifles to me. A fast 7 08 with a 162 grainer and your 280i. A compromise maybe would be shortening the 7 08 to say 19-20 inches and suppressing. You’d keep most of your velocity and it would be nicer to use. My 2c anyway. Do what you want, you will anyway!!

An interesting point since I'm doing load development again after trimming barrel on the 280AI. Peterson brass weighs 202.6grains on average and holds 73grains h20 in a once fired and and neck sized case. Norma weighs 193.6grains on average and hold 73.4 grains h20 in once fired neck sized brass. Extra weigh in the Peterson Brass mostly in the base or a different alloy density? Who knows but it's a very surprising result. Don't have time to investigate further but will post some more once I get time. Also load development with 180 elds at mag length plus RL26 seems to be productive like other kimbers.

love my montana 7-08, she is comin to kiwi this week for her maiden voyage.... goingto enjoy luggin the little thing around as opposed to anything else that alwats feeels heavy.

ive decided on corelokt ultra bonded models in 140gr, an no where near as fast as your pushing them 162s
