Up around 23-23.5gr with a 240XTP which whacked a couple a wallabies and scared the shit out of a 3rd at 130m. Magnum primer and a good crimp required.

What sort of mount are you using as I have a browning 92 in 44mag which I would love to scope and Im sure the xtra weight will reduce the boot of the steel buttplate .

I have a Marlin 1894 with same length barrel.
Shoots 240 grain cast bullets with 9 grains AP70, or 240 grain XTP with 22 grain 2205 (both ADI powders)
If you want subsonic 7 grains of Trailboss with cast bullets.

I like the XTP for long shots, my longest has been 135 metres (pig) with a perfect mushroom.
I prefer cast lead with a semi-wadcutter profile for close shots as they don't shed jackets.

With open sites i can keep all 7 rounds on an A5 at 100 yards, but haven't done much beyond that!
(however my Marlin has the microgroove barrel, which is very different to your Rossi)

I was running the 240 gr XTP’s and swear by them.

Even when I was researching loads all the forums here and abroad were pointing at the XTP’s.

For my shooter which was a Ruger carbine I was using 23 gr AR2205, Federal large pistol primer & the 240 gr XTP

The XTP performs as it should mushrooming beautifully if you get to recover any!

I only shot a handful of Sika with that load & I nick named that rifle/cartridge the “Hammer of Thor” for good reason as you’ll experience for yourself.

Dirty Harry will be proud of you going with a .44

    Hot barrels
