Just looking at possibility of new scales, and i see that the top notch standard seems to be the likes of the fx-300i.
Are these really worth the money, over a very good reading 0.02grain standard load cell scale?

You can forget about that level of precision with load cells. They wander all over the place.
Really depends what you are loading for, and also what powders you use.
For F-class, yup - it is worth the money.
The other option (somewhere in the middle) is to look at high end beam scales mounted at eye level. If you get decent beam scales you can load to surprisingly high quality.

You would be surprised how easy it is to steady the beam with a touch of the thumb too. I prefer good quality beam scale over anything else.
I prefer a good quality thrower and fine powder even more.
I won't be going back to measuring powder any other way, i got some bling magnetic scales as pert of a autothower v3 and its been eye opening how much its speed my process up as well as being more accurate. My es has slightly dropped as well so there has been gain on target as well- even though this has been slight

If you read the article about the Houston warehouse and the experiments there you will see it's not the powder weights that make the difference but neck tensions.
Fancy weighing machines that measure down to .000 are for the seriously ocd.

One of the best things that scale will do for you is save you serious amounts of time. I dont have the full V3 kit but ive put my rcbs thrower and trickler directly over the weigh pan to reduce time as much as i can. You can weigh 50 loads in 25mins or so. Thats half the time i used to take with my beam scale. A finer scale will be more and more critical as you get down to smaller calibers like .223 (due to minor variations being a greater percentage of the charge). With an 7mmRM a few kernels here or there prob dont amount to much on an issue
Over what distance was that though?
I read the article some time ago and don't correctly recall.
In my experience, Über gear provides deminishing returns. Surely consistency in the charge weight will eventually show as consistancy in elevation at LR distances. I don't disagree with their findings but some context would be fair. I suspect their groups might have all been shot at 100 yards?
Thats a big warehouse! Surely if you can eliminate all the variables you can except for yourself and nature, then every kernel weight difference would make for a better shot at some point along its trajectory?
