Well? Highest BC?
Well? Highest BC?
We have had great results with the 168 A-Max in a few 300wsm's i've loaded for
If its guns, tits or tyres it's going to cost you lots of money
Out to what distance Gav? Am thinking for a short barrelled 308.
I had a look at this when I started loading for the Winchester, I only compared two manufactures but without going back and looking it all up again I'm sure bullet for bullet the Noslers had a higher claimed bc than the hornady line including the Amax, up to 168gr, the 168gr Bt is just under .5.I believe if you want to go to a 180gr the NBt has a BC of over .5

Yes if I can find some 168gr BT's they have a BC of.490 compared to .47 something.
600 odd for myself, not sure what Melhunting is shooting at distace wise..... A-max over bt's at slower speeds for sure

If you really want the most slippery 168 grainer, they'd probably be the berger VLD or amax. Nosler claims higher, but I've got a feeling it's overstated, rather more similar to the VLD and Amax. Not that it'll make a huge difference over the range capability of a short barreled .308. Just go for the one that shoots well. The Nosler BT went well in my T3, and killed pretty well on chamois and deer out to the 300m or so that I used it to. From what I've been told the Amax is the best for expansion at lower speeds
I loaded the 168 amax in 308, Shot realy well but the rifle I loaded for got sold before the owner shot anything with it.. The load had them going 2700 fps or there abouts in the 22" Sako, My Bakail and a T3 that was at the range that day, all three rifle shot them well, the ammo I loaded is now being used in a 20" Rem 700 but I dont know if it has been over a chrony yet.
Used the 168 BT in the 30-350 but only only on goats and nothing past 350 so couldn't test the BC that close (was a while back before dialing)
