Just asking about the references to poor quality Winchester primers - can some one post links or further information?

We use them and haven't had an issue with any used in over 1200 223 rounds.

Ditto, never had one go off punching primers out of reloads but always assume one may so ditto the safety glasses and ear plugs. Only time I had them go off was punching out crimped primers in milsurp 30-06.
I use to use the old silver colour Win LR primers but when they changed to the bronze colour my accuracy dropped off a bit and I completely changed to CCI. Fortunately in the short time I used the bronze ones I never had any issues. Not aware of any issues with SR but the final call whether to use them is up to the individual.

Is it just my eyes or are those primers looking very flat and square edged to the primer pockets. No chance you may have put more or the wrong powder in those cases? It looks like you have pressure there.

i think its just your eyes they are getting a very little hot but nowhere near where i would expct a blow out to happen there is a lip between the primer and the case that you cant see in the photos its not huge but big enough that i had no reason to be concurned after the 1st shot

No sign of case head flow into the ejector hole, no sign of polish marks from bolt rotation when opening bolt. No sign of crater edges around firing pin impression. Slightly flattened primers only which could be first firing of case ie slightly loose in chamber.
