    About 50.
Another impressive thing for a cheap is that it doesn't seem to copper. Its had one really good scrub after the first 15 rounds and just a bore snake after each outing since. Holding accuracy well.

I saw 2 Tikka 6.5PRC in a shop today, asked about ammo and he said they have none and are expecting sako 6.5PRC ammo in March!

If its going to speed up id expect to see it by 100 rounds or so.

Sounds like theyre making a good barrel.

I've been shooting a tikka 18" 6.5 PRC for the last 18months. Farm, Public Bush and Tops hunting. Bloody loving it! Its the all-round rifle i was hoping it to be. 3.7kg with vortex viper pst 4-16x50 and suppressor on.
I've been using 143gr ELD-X over 56.6grs of RL26 - pushing at 2870-2900fps depending on ambient temp. Averaging 1/2 MOA over many shooting sessions up to 700m.

Longest shot so far is 520m in the Ruahines. Longest headshot is 370m on a fallow yearling with this rifle. 5 close Sika in the bush too. Plus other deer and goats. It's getting the job done!

Whenever I see these sort of figures it reinforces whey I don't need a PRC. My 20" .260 will push the 143 ELDX at 2860fps and now my 18" at 2816fps with 10 grns less powder.

Yeah if i were to go again i would buy a factory 6.5x55 (or maybe a 7mm08) chopped and threaded at 20". Cheaper, easier and would do everything i needed it to while having the larger supply of factory and reloading components.
Also less recoil than the 6.5PRC for spotting your impacts at range with the same weight rifle.
Still i'm loving this 6.5PRC rifle though!

When ever I read these threads .... I think about my 6506ai that pushes 140AMAX at 2980fps. Plenty of 270 or 2506 brass around that does not cost an arm or a leg.

Been down that road but you need a longer barrel to get the most out of it.

Yep a mate has a couple of 6.5-284s that both push 140-143s at 3k too, but yeah longer than 20" tubes.

Come to think of it my Frankenstein Model 7 24" 6.5CM can push 143's at >2900 fps with Re26

It's a funny old world, I sold Tahr the 6.5 prc to buy a 270 Wsm like his. First load Brian tried went 3150 with the Nosler 140 bt and IMR 7977 an accurate load of that will do me.

The PRC is just a temporary distraction for me. Am enjoying getting to know it but it cant touch my 300saum or 270wsm.

Yeah. There's a whole spectrum of stuff that does the same job. Just need enough oomph and accuracy. Accuracy is good.
    Latest PRC success ...

What kind of pressure do you think that load is getting up to?

    147 @ 2930 from my 26" PRC is only around 52,000 PSI.

A lot of folks are nipping at the heels of the larger cases with 260's and Creedmoors but they've got to be redlining them to do so.

Yes for sure! With most my rifles i run them them at about 1gr under the point where i see excess pressure signs, assuming they produce good precision there.

I dont see the point of having a 6 cyl car and taking one or two plug leads off.
