It is threaded but I'm not planning on getting a suppresser, it can't. Be louder than my rem mag and really, when hunting how many round are you going through that will damage your hearing, my 243 is also 20 inch and barks like an Alsatian as well, I just wear plugs when target shooting with it

One loud noice can do damage not heaps but everytime you get ringing in your ears or even an just un confitable felling its accualy perment damage which over years gets worse that " its only one shot" theroy is not true... ask a ear dr and with the new suppressors that are short and very light why not??? Thats just my opinon

Shot a deer last year with a 20" Sako 6.5x55, two shots, majorly deaf in left ear, constant ringing. It catches up with ya at some stage.

Went to the range with a mate sighting in his new 300rum.
The first shot he fired With the muffs on and break off.
It just gets better when he puts the break on and forgets his ear muffs.
I was trying not to laugh, Tru!

It is actually a very good calibre, should do much better in sales than it does. Better ballistic efficiency than the .308 or 7mm pills, but more weight and oomph than the 6.5mm pills which are renowned for their accuracy and long range target shooting accuracy. The pick of the bunch is the good old .308 purely for sheer versatility. On target performance is identical to the 7mm-08, drop and wind drift near enough to identical as well but with SO MANY options which the 7mm-08 can't do. Not many 7mm pistol and lever action pills around for reduced loads now is there...
Who would want to pussify a 7mm08 any further with reduced loads though?

That would be the perfect calibre to rebarrel a tikka in

A ballisticly challenged bore size handicapped by a short action cartridge yet in a long action rifle....perfect!
