Are NORMA 6.5x55 HPBT 144gr bullets ok to use as a hunting round (Deer)?
My understanding is that they are more of a match/target round? My father went and bought a box of 50 because the shop was out of Federal. Unbonded I think.

Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
I have tried the 120 and 144 and they are slow but accurate through my tikka.
I just bought them because they were cheap to use for target shooting and then reload the brass for hunting and tac shooting
My favorite sentences i like to hear are - I suppose so. and Send It!
Hi I have used about 5 boxes of the 144gr Norma ammo now and it kills well. So long as you don't gut shoot animals. Shot pigs red deer goat hares and the odd cheeky rabbit they all fall over dead.

Don't think it works that well at 250 m plus lost too much velocity to open up consistently so as with anything it's shot placement that gets results. Ive used quite a bit to get the brass it's the ducks nuts for reloading, I stick a 140 gr gameking in it 2nd time round.
Time for a thread revival, I picked up some of this ammo and my rifle seems to quite like it. I am just target shooting with it but I was keen to find the projectiles and their BC, however Sierra do not list a 144gr SMK on their website or any 144gr projectile in .264. I doubt Sierra did a special run just for Norma but I cant find any more info on these projectiles. Any ideas anyone?
Think I have got it sussed the packets say 9,3grams, which works out to be 143.521gr so I guess its just a slight rounding error and the projectile is most likely the 142gr SMK.
@gilly just dropped off 40 of the Norma/Sierra 144 BTHP.
What a GC the man is. @sparky1000 - look like a target round to my eyes.
I'm guessing same as you - Sierra 142 BTHP.
