    Parker hale 30-06 recommended rounds

G'day, my parker hale is almost back in action. What ammo would y'all recommend for deers and pigs. Mine is safari deluxe short barrel. Someone recommended 7mm08 but not to sure...

7mm08 is a completely different thing.
    You don't fire them in a 3006.

Federal blue box 150 grain would be a good start, but personally I think the 06 is happiest with 165 to 178 grain bullets

Bloody lovely rifle the amount of power for a light weight rifle is wicked. It will finally be ready for testing on Father's day woohoo lol. Can't wait. Cheers team

    Hi all
I have a PH 30-06 and it definitely likes the 180s better than the lighter projectiles. The Win 180 silvertip shoot well in it. I put a low swing safety on mine so I could mount a scope, and a Limbsaver to replace the PH hard plastic shoulder killer and it is a joy to shoot.
Enjoy and they are an awesome calibre.

F@$k me...you think? Sorry bud but some research/reading might be in order. Or a few beersies with an experienced forum member... plenty close to you. Love your enthusiasm tho...
I know a lot but it seems less every day...

Due to the exorbitant cost of reloading components, warning shots will not be given.

Hence why I started this thread lol I was certain the 7mm08 wouldn't but they were certain it did so I guess this was jus a I told you so post haha. My attitude is if I can't do it then I'll pay but I'll find every bit of information I can. And the outcome depends on what I'm most confident on hha

Im sure a 7mm-08 round will feed out of the magazine and chamber and fire in your '06 chamber but it wouldnt be the best thing to do, for sure.

It will be rather dangerous in fact. Farkin lot of psi looking for somewhere to go. If a 222 round in 223 is very bad. This just got to be worse as close to 75% more powder...25 vs 45grns. If it's not 30/06 that your 200% sure of its pedigry...DONT use it.
