Thread: possable 260 projetiles (short mag)

my mate muz has a browning a-bolt that he has re-barrelled to 260rem he's been running the 120gn Remington coreloct which is a very good hunting bullet out to 400m but Remington stopped making them a while ago and he's starting to get low on stocks he built up when you could still get them so looking at the next option the rifle has a very short mag and we have tried the 123g a-max sst etcetc and other 130gn or less 6.5 bullets but we are having grave trouble getting one that will fit the mag with out seating so deep it starts affecting speed to much like right down to 2400fps
he is a little recoil shy so he prefers to keep the bullets to 120-130gn doing around 2800fps

so we are looking for suggestions on a good hunting bullet out to 400m between 120-130gn that is short enough to fit the mag without having to seat to deep

I've got an A-Bolt that I built up for my Son in 6.5 Super LR which is an improved 260. 123 AMaxes fit in the mag...just. They are doing 2900 from memory. Not much else out there in that 120-130g weight. Even I would prefer a highish BC lead tipped projectile!

They shoot very well in my Mod 7 260, and that has a fairly short magazine.
